things go well. Sometimes, migrant workers are cheated. They do not get that cash or they receive a check that later bounces. It is hard to know how many migrant
workers there are altogether of course. Figures are not readily available from the state because complaint cases are not classifiable and they further do not discern whether or not someone
is a migrant worker ("The unscrupulous," 2003). Also, when migrant workers are not paid their fair share, they rarely complain (2003). In some ways, they serve as an invisible workforce
that serves the community in a variety of ways. In looking at the problems surrounding migrant workers as it respects their own pay and the fact that they may be
taking jobs from residents, the New Jersey town of Morristown is certainly affected. In fact, in this town, there are many migrant workers for whom others take advantage. The following
was reported in a newspaper article: "At street corner muster zones in towns like Freehold, Dover, Morristown and New Brunswick, it seems nearly every worker has a tale about being
underpaid or not getting paid at all" ("The unscrupulous," 2003). Morristown especially boasts an organization that helps migrant workers regain back pay, and it has worked, at least on
occasion (2003, p.21). In looking at this problem, one question posed by a student is: "How does the economic status of Morristown NJ affect the migrant workers that live
