to the historical background to the country which was once a French Colony, gaining its independence in 1956 (CIA, 2004; PG). The country is moving towards a more democratic
system with the second set of elections held in 2002. However, it does need to be remembered that Morocco is still a developing country, with a GDP per capita of
only US$4,000 in 2003 (CIA, 2004; PG). This means there is a great deal of poverty, especially outside of the established tourist areas and 40% of the population are employed
in agriculture (CIA, 2004; PG). Travel to Morocco is easy as for most traveller form the US, the EU Australia and New Zealand will not need a visa for
a stay of less than 90 days (Fabb and Galantini, 2004; PG). Transport to Morocco Morocco is fairly easy to travel to, there are three major international airports located
at Agadir, Tangiers and Casablanca (Fabb and Galantini, 2004; PG). Flights are made on scheduled and charter flights from Europe, the Middle East and the rest of Africa on a
frequent basis. In addition to air transport there are also car ferries, travelling form Algericas in Spain to both Tangeir and Ceuta (Fabb and Galantini, 2004; PG). Transport within Morocco
