dependent upon religion. He believes that when people oppose issues such as abortion or homosexuality on religious grounds they are effectively opposing such things first, and then will find something
in the bible to justify their beliefs. Rather than seeing something explicit in the bible that supports the claim and then making a decision on an issue, the issue is
usually contemplated first. That is one thing that is wrong with providing explanations for issues that can be morally construed. Dependent upon the religion or ideology, one
can argue that for example homosexuality is wrong. Based on Natural Law Theory one may argue that--quite obviously--men and women are different and fit together physically. They are meant to
be sexual because the result of a complete union is offspring. By looking at the result which is that offspring are created, one uses reasoning to conclude that homosexuality is
not natural. It is argued that because men and women can have babies, they are doing something natural and anything other than that is construed as not natural. Of course,
that is flawed logic based on natural law. Natural law is morality but one that is derived from nature, and some theorists equate it with the use of common
sense. Again, it may be argued that homosexuality is not natural because the sexual organs do not fit nicely as they do when a man and woman are put together.
To heterosexuals, who comprise the bulk of the population, the argument appears quite natural. Many have an aversion to homosexuality. For example, some men actually feel disgusted by the thought
of it. This gut reaction may be construed as part of the idea that it is a practice that goes against nature. People find unpleasant things--things that should not be--quite
