philosophy in a broad sense is much more than trying to explain moral rights and wrongs (1995). Utilitarians try to ground thinking into human good (1995). Hence, it is more
than right or wrong, but rather goes to the good life (1995). Human good is a concept held high when evaluating moral rights. The stoics however equated human good with
virtue, something far different from what the utilitarians had accomplished (1995). One problem with moral rights and things of that nature is that there is no real objectivity when discussing
morality (1995). The concept of moral relativism crops up and then one has to wonder what is really a moral right. Some contend that morality is intrinsic and universal while
others say there is no such thing. Yet, moral right theory for example is very specific and goes to law. Moral right theories involve several kinds. There is the monist
view for example that emanated from Germany which says that the personal part of a work and thus determines the nature of the right and this is something that also
tends to connect both economic and personal interests as the root to a common trunk; this is the place from which all the other rights come from and then they
spread like branches (Joffrain, 2001). This view sees a work as "an extension of the creators personality" and provides not only moral rights but economic rights to boot (2001).
The dualist position on the other hand to come from France considers both moral and economic rights as separate and apart and they protect personal interests in a work
