While money can make life a great deal easier, it does not complete a person or give them something they did not previously possess, in terms of self worth and
identity. And, clearly there is more to life than money for money will not provide a person with loved ones, or a meaningful life. The following paper examines why money
is not everything and how money does not buy happiness. Money Does Not Buy Happiness First and foremost it is noted in a study it was illustrated that
people, at least people in the UK, are living longer and making more money than they did several decades ago. Considering that people are often worried about money and health
this would be an indication that if money bought happiness then people would generally be happier than they were several decades ago. The author claims, "There has been no upward
trend in happiness despite the fact that we are richer, healthier, and have longer holidays...Experts say one reason people are less happy is they spend longer at work and less
time doing the things they enjoy" (Womack, 2008). Clearly, if money bought happiness people would not feel a need to do anything but make more money, rather than being less
than happy because they were making money and not enjoying life in a leisurely manner. In another article it is stated that, "Money doesnt buy happiness, but success does"
and this relies on things like honesty, fairness, and values associated with hard work (Brooks, 2008). The author cites an example of a man, Mack Metcalf, who won the lottery,
