time in style and uniqueness. But, their styles and perception of Impressionism was slightly different, although also similar in some ways. The following paper compares Monets "Road to Louveciennes, Melting
Snow, Sunset" and Manets "The Rue Mosnier with Flag" as they relate to style and perspective. Monet and Manet Both of these paintings present the viewer with perspective
as it moves away into the distance. They are thus clearly similar in relationship to paintings which move towards a point in the background. In addition, both of the points
in the background seem to disappear giving the viewer the understanding that the road may well go on forever, or it may well be that the road simply turns and
moves out of view. In terms of what makes this perspective different in the two paintings, in Manets painting the road begins, for the viewer, at the bottom and
center of the painting. It is the strong focal point of the painting and although its moving off to a point of perspective veers a bit off to the left
of the painting, it is still the predominant element in the painting. In Monets painting the road begins far off to the right of the painting, although it veers
in the same direction to some extent, and thus is also the focal point of the painting. However, it is not as strong a focal point as Manets for Monet
seems to be focusing just as strongly on the houses on the side of the road, as well as the snow and the sunset coloring. All of the coloring in
this painting is aglow but yet also dark in tone with earthy qualities. Manets work is bright and sunny, predominantly white with the splash of color being the primary
