world. In some countries, the monarchy has nothing to do with the running of government. Nevertheless, royalty commands a certain respect. Some suggest that the Kennedy family is the royal
family of America. Of course, that is not the truth but the way in which the people worship certain families who have been everpresent in the United States, has turned
some families into something similar to royalty in other nations. And this phenomenon where people love their monarchs is nothing new. During the French Revolution, after America had fought for
complete independence and ordered their lives so that it would be free of monarchal rule, the French people still wanted an enlightened monarchy. They did not want complete freedom. There
is no right or wrong. Monarchal rule is not necessarily evil and complete freedom is not always desired by the people. In Canada today, the question of monarchal rule looms
large. John Hauber explains that while many Canadians feel a sense of loyalty to their queen, there have been changes in the past few decades which jeopardize her authority ("Loyalty,"
