American Culture. Argument and Conceptual Question The conceptual question proposed by this author is that rape is at the far end of the natural sex spectrum. In other
words rape is an aspect of, or an act of sex; in this authors opinion it is not a crime of power or violence. Main Conclusion of Author The
political concept of feminism has robbed modern women from knowing what "sex" is, as well as denied her a true concept of her self. Main ideas of Conceptual Question
We might question if Paglias opening sentence in a Red Herring - or distraction or a false start-something to get us started on what we think is an appropriate
trail, or entry into the subject, and then throw us off. Paglia writes: "Rape is an outrage that cannot be tolerated." Then goes on to tell us
why it should be tolerated.. How many of us would have chosen to read this article if it began, rape is just something you should expect as a woman,
so get over it. That seems to be what she is saying throughout the article. Isnt it interesting that she doesnt start out that way. If the
author feels so strongly about her idea, then why does she feel a need to push us down a slippery slope into it. The main ideas of the conceptual question
