is standing, but he is slightly hunched over as to talk to the much shorter Rizzo, who is made even shorter by sitting on one of the stools at
situated in front of the white Formica counter. Joes jaw is clenched and his look is intent, as he clearly disagrees with what Rizzo is saying. In the background, the
diner set includes a zigzags in order to accommodate more customers. Four extras can be seen and all eyes are on Joe and Rizzo, as the heat of their conversation
has attracted attention. The costuming is consistent with the characterizations established thus far. Joe is wearing his customary black cowboy hat and fringed jacket. Rizzo, with slicked back hair, a
dirty black suit, and a days growth of beard, is characteristically disreputable in his appearance. The waitress leaning against one wall wears the traditional uniform of a waitress (i.e.,
short-sleeve, knee-length dress with white bands on the sleeves and a triangular white apron), which identifies her role. The man across from Joe and Rizzo wears a hat and the
dress of the other extras (all men) identifies them as working-class people. Theres a mug on the counter and the usual accessories that one would expect to see in a
