in vivid detail (Biblia Vivida, 2007; New American Bible, 2002). Of these 20, 17 miracles death with physical ailments, 9 miracles were performed on the forces of nature, 6 focused
on casting out demons and 3 brought people back from the dead (Biblia Vivida, 2007). In addition, one finds in Mark 8 more occasions when different people in the crowds
brought people who were sick and Jesus healed all of them (Biblia Vivida, 2007). In Marks first chapter, he reports that when Jesus was teaching in the Temple, a possessed
man spoke out to Him: "Be quiet! said Jesus sternly. Come out of him! The evil spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek" (Mark
1:25-26). The text goes on to tell us how amazed the people were that Jesus have this type of authority (Mark 1:27-28). Jesus and His Apostles left the synagogue
only to learn that Peters mother-in-law was very ill with a fever (Mark 1:29-30). Jesus went to her and cured her: "So he went to her, took her hand and
helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them" (Mark 1:31). By that very evening people had heard of the miracles Jesus had performed,
casting out evil from the possessed man and healing Peters mother-in-law and they brought many to the door asking to be healed ((Mark 1:32). "Jesus healed many who had various
diseases. He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak because they knew who he was" (Mark 1:34). Even the next morning, as the group
was walking to other villages so that Jesus could perform His mission of preaching, He drove out demons along the way (Mark 1:39). When approached by a man who had
