the nations overall economy, there are a number of issues to consider. One issue that needs to be considered is the impact that mining has on the environment. Another issue
has to do with stripping Australia of all its natural resources. These two issues could play a distant second and third role in the scheme of things unless provisions are
made and they become priorities. It is exciting when investors and developer discover natural resources in any nation. It means they can exploit these resources and improve their economy through
jobs and exports. This is exactly what has happened in Western Australia. If one Googles mining in Australia, the user will find numerous job opportunities that require little or no
specific skills. As for the economy, the Gross Domestic Product grew by 1 Percent in the June-September quarter 2011, which was a 2.5 percent increased over the same quarter
2010 (Harrison). The increase was attributed to a dramatic increase in mining investment. Harrison reported this was also in spite of a decrease in consumer demand. Annual growth for 2011,
according to a senior economist at the National Australia Bank would be 2 percent with an anticipated 4 percent for 2012. Australian Mining reported that Australia is the largest producer
of iron ore and bauxite in the world. They are the second largest producer of lead, manganese, and alumina and the third largest producer of gold, zinc, nickel, uranium, and
brown coal. They are further and fifth in aluminimium, silver, black cola, and tin (Australian Mining). They further supply much of the worlds minion services and technologies. All in all,
