The observations made on Tuesday and Friday nights was based on the fact that these two nights brought in a large population of employees after work in local businesses. 5:30 p.m.-6 p.m.: Tuesday evening. 15 people present. 6 of the people present were seated at tables, eating food. 9 of the people present were sitting on bar stools or standing around the bar talking. Of the 15 people, 6 were women, 9 were men, 2 were Hispanic, 1 African America and 12 were mixed, unknown or Caucasian decent. The 6 people appeared to be college students, while the other 9 were the working class population. Two of the working class population was employed at the bar, one Caucasian man and 1 African American woman. The groups stayed together, ordered food and talked. The working class population tended to be louder drank more and discussed sports that were on the television; the college students stayed in their groups and did not engage in discussions initiated regarding sports events and politics. One student was asked to respond about the president, and refused. One of the working class men asked him: "Whats your problem," but the student didnt respond and simply walked away. 5:30 p.m.-6 p.m.: Saturday evening. 45 people present. Some of the people were seated at tables and stools around the bar, most people in the room were standing in small groups talking.
