Others feel as though having such a health care system would limit the superior nature of American medicine, and also lead the United States towards a communist existence. In Michael
Moores documentary, Sicko, he aggressively points out the errors of the American health care system in many different ways. The following paper examines and reviews his film. Michael
Moores Sicko : One of Michael Moores issues involves the fact that many people in the United States do not even have health care coverage at all. This is emphasized in
many ways. One of the ways in which Moore offers the truth of the painful reality involves a man who has had two fingers cut off in an accident. Because
he has no insurance he must choose which finger he wants to save because he could only realistically afford paying for one. This is a very graphic example of just
how simple the lack of health coverage is, and also how devastating it is in the nation. While he does address issues of not having any insurance at all
his primary focus is on those who do have insurance and yet are so severely limited that many end up dying because of the HMO system of health care in
the nation. Through an HMO a person generally has one doctor and through that doctor, or provider, they must access further health care but only with the approval or recommendation
of that health care provider. And, in most cases a person is limited to who they can see because of their HMO. Moore goes into great detail about various people
