a negative way. The following paper examines Jordans experiences and discusses how it proves ones youth does not always negatively determine ones future. Michael Jordan
"Jordan loved to play baseball when he was a child, and also played some basketball and football" (Michael Jordans biography, 2006). It is often noted that
his love and ability to play basketball likely stemmed from his brothers ability to play basketball as he would often play with Michael and "continuously beat him in one-on-one pickup
games" (Michael Jordans biography, 2006). This spurred him on to try harder as a child, and improve his game. However, when Jordan was in high school, apparently playing his
freshman year, he was cut from the team during his sophomore year (Michael Jordans biography, 2006). At the time he was considered to be "a 5-11 skinny" boy and apparently
just wasnt as good as the other players who made the list (Michael Jordan, 2006). One author notes that every professional athlete has always been all but the best player
on any team in their childhood, and Jordan was a clear exception to that rule (Green, 2006). Jordan recalls that he could not really believe he did not make the
team (Green, 2006). He checked the list over and over and still did not see his name on the list (Green, 2006). He states, in an interview, "I hurried to
