that has significant worry as to its land or natural resources. It has a long history. Still, it is a nation that has been plagued with problems.
Its population is primarily Roman Catholic with a small percentage of Protestants and other religions ("Mexico Country Profile"). More than half of the population are Mestizo or Amerindian-Spanish where the
next largest ethnic group is pure Amerindian ("Mexico Country Profile"). Those two ethnic niches comprise 90% of the populous; the rest are either white or other races ("Mexico Country Profile").
Spanish is the official language in Mexico ("Mexico Country Profile"). Mexico was originally the place where Amerindian civilizations thrived but came under Spanish rule ("Mexico: CIA"). Today, it is
a republic with free elections. While Mexico has gotten a negative reputation, and people are told not to drink the water, the country is beginning to do well. Its business
sectors are well developed and while it admittedly has infrastructure problems, that is something that is not necessarily devastating to business deals. However, a business traveler in Mexico must be
cognizant of cultural differences and attitudes in order to be successful. Whether one is brokering a business deal or just in the nation managing a plant, cultural variables are relevant.
Attitudes about business management are also important. For example, in Mexico there are certain attitudes about management as there are in the United States. Some experts in the
