be recalled. When considering the memory in this context it is unsurprising that commentators have likened it to either a video recorder or a computer which is able to record
data, such as song, and then replay that song on demand. However, memory is far more versatile and operating a more dynamic manner allowing experiences to be recalled and replaced
in a number of different ways. For example, when remembering a song it may be repeated in a similar context to the original experience, but the recall may also take
place in a different way, selectively retrieving parts processes in order to retrieve in a different manner. Unlike a video recorder or a computer the human memory is able to
remember a wide range of multidimensional experiences, not only the verbal or visual experiences, but also tactile impressions, smells, emotional experiences, motor skills and specific activities. The way in which
a memory is created will reflects the conditions of experience, as well as the existing knowledge the individual already possesses. This knowledge and previous experience can create a subjective interpretation
of the experience, which is recorded as important also impacts on the way that it is process. In addition to this, environmental conditions may also have an impact, distracting from
the inputs which would impact on the amount of data that can be retrieved. Processes in the memory system include receipt of information, which is then encoded, modified retained and
retrieved. The three main processes are encoding, storage and retrieval. Encoding is the process which sees incoming stimulus translated into a unique new code that the individual brain will be
