everything in their power to meet the needs of multicultural students. Yet, many still question if there is more that can be done. Often times, in rural areas, where teachers
are not as advanced or educated, cultural and linguistic differences are sometimes quickly diagnosed as learning problems. Therefore, if teachers are readily prepared, and if they possess a basic understanding
of different cultures, they will be better equipped to meet the ever growing needs of multicultural students. Subsequently, this will result in a better learning experience for culturally diverse students
and also enhance the relationship between the teacher and his or her pupils. And as todays classrooms become more culturally diverse, parents and teachers have an integral role of promoting
an understanding of cultures different from their own. In addition, they must also foster a positive attitude and explain the benefits of cultural and ethnic diversity in the classroom and
in the school. While easier said than done, this task can be completed by promoting cultural awareness, incorporating a bilingual education, and by even modifying the curriculum to the abilities
of the individuals and the various cultures. Multicultural students have roamed school halls for centuries now, but it is just recently that this train of thought has become a centralized
