people feel they need, or how they look. Dental hygiene is one of these media influences as it generally insists that in order to be attractive, no matter your age,
a person should have white teeth, straight teeth, and a brilliant smile. Anything less is seen as unattractive. While many people think that the media is only aimed at influencing
what the young adult or middle age adult buys and thinks, the truth is that many aging adults are just as influenced by the media, especially in a time when
the looks of youth are passing and the media insists that aging is not an attractive reality. At the same time the media does not necessarily take into consideration the
many problems the aging population faces in relationship to dental hygiene, although the dentistry industry does. With these issues in mind the following paper presents a tutorial look at the
aging population and concerns in the dental hygiene industry. The paper then examines the aging population and the media as it involves dental hygiene. The paper is, as mentioned, a
