directly impacts the truth of that story; because of sloppy reporting, incorrect fact finding or exaggerated information, radio, television and newspaper coverage can completely distort the actual events. Nothing
is a better example of how this impacts foreign policy than that of international terrorism. Not only does such massive media coverage hamper investigative efforts in the event of,
for example, a terrorist bombing, but it sets off a chain of events that actually benefit the terrorists scheme: to bring as much attention as possible to whatever political plight
they represent (Meyers, 1997). Media coverage is something that cannot be avoided in todays technological society. It used to be that high profile news stories would be broadcast after
