efforts by all types of businesses is primarily centered on ethical considerations related to the destruction being wreaked on ways of life, social systems, and entire cultures. In fact, the
argument is often made that virtually no government, regardless of how powerful, is able to stand in the way of an international corporate entity. This seems to be particularly true
in terms of the increasingly globalized nature of mass media. It is important to recognize that there is most certainly
a phenomenon at work in todays society that is directly related to the connection that exists between "citizens of the world" as related to both political and economic power and
how that ties in with globalization. This process exists in the framework of more than the phenomenon of digital technology or the so-called "Information Age" but an undying faith in
the perception of the promise of "Western" technology and its related wealth. Images of that wealth, lifestyle, consumption, and corruption are now seen via television and Internet throughout the world.
As media has become increasingly globalized and with a fewer number of "players" in terms of owners and mega-merger
conglomerates, such information becomes increasingly homogenized and increasingly based on profitability for those players. Perhaps the most important (or the most insidious) aspect of globalization of the media is the
apparent ability of medias technology to transcend and transform social problems and society while shaping cultural considerations to ideally ensure that all nations are readily available to all multi-national corporations.
In that process, the unique attributes of social, cultural, and international relationships are also forever altered. International business and transnational media organizations must be seen as having a significant role
