Therefore Huesmann, et al (2003) designed a longitudinal investigation that examined the possibility of a relationship between childhood TV viewing habits and aggressive behavior roughly 15 years later. While the researchers do not overtly state a hypothesis (which might be regarded as a thesis), their literature review, as well as their research questions, suggest that the researchers expect to find that there is a connection between viewing violence on TV in childhood and later aggressive behavior as an adult. Authors view of media/writers personal opinion: Based on their study data, the authors of this research article view the impact of media, in particular violent TV shows, as detrimental to society as a whole. While the author obviously hold this opinion and offer solid data to support this position, in general, this writer/tutor believes that the detrimental aspects of media can be offset through family discussion and parental input, as well as a healthy dose of parental monitoring of what their children watch.
