at this institution. Assessment Criteria Type of institution: The Mayo Clinic is the "largest integrated, not-for-profit group practice in the world" (About us, 2009). The Clinic employers over 3,300
doctors, scientists and researchers and 46,000 allied health staff (About us, 2009). Type of nursing care/service provided: Nursing care at Mayo Clinic is comprehensive and addresses all nursing specialties
and aspects of nursing science. Volume of activity of the institution: Collectively at all three of its locations, i.e., in Rochester, Minnesota; Jacksonville, Florida; and Scottsdale/Phoenix, Arizona, the Mayo
Clinic treats the needs of over a million people per year (About us, 2009). Levels of nursing care staff employed: Nurses at Mayo occupy several levels of practice, with
each level of its own standards in regards to educational requirement. These levels are: Licensed Practical Nurse; Registered Nurse (Associates degree); Registered Nurse (Baccalaureate degree); and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
