views of application of their theories to the workplace, but modern social theorist and business managers have relied on both theories to devise means of promoting a sense of fulfillment
at work (Maslow) and instigating a rewards system that works (Mayo). By combining the methods, the desire of managers is to foster in employees a sense of responsibility, loyalty and
productivity. The Success of Two Alternating Theories Business theory has been fortunate to straddle both
of these theories because it is well known that humans are easily bored with the status quo and what works one week may not work the next. Change is evitable
