of women is concerned. One of her most infamous and legendary works is A Vindication of the Rights of Women. The following paper examines this text and illustrates how, although
written in 1792, is still incredibly relevant and insightful today. Mary Wollstonecrafts A Vindication of the Rights of Women Born in 1759, Mary Wollstonecraft is a woman who
fought for womens rights in many ways, and a woman who stands strong as a powerful icon for womens rights in regards to what she wrote and how she lived
(Mary Wollstonecraft, 2007). She was a woman who apparently had many loves, in a time when women only married (Mary Wollstonecraft, 2007).
Her work A Vindication of the Rights of Women was written in 1792 and yet, putting aside perhaps some confusing use of language in relationship to modern times, her
work is still incredibly valid and relevant over two hundred years after it was written. "The ideas in Wollstonecrafts book were truly revolutionary and caused tremendous controversy" (Spartacus, 2007). She
speaks of the position of women in society, elements of a womans life that can often lead to a position where she is seen as little more than a thing
of beauty, and how women may well often be the instigator of their problems in relationship to making them victims of a mans society. This knowledge was essentially gained from
