individual understands. In the movie Blade Runner, the earth has become virtually uninhabitable by any sort of decent human being. Depicting Los Angeles in the year 2019, the film
- which stars Harrison Ford -- is an illusionary ride through a time machine of futuristic endeavors. Life is nothing like it is today, inasmuch as society has been
completely and utterly overtaken by the seedier side of humanity. The punk look has been adopted as the official expression and attitude insofar as the lower class has now
become the primary population. The upper class has since been sequestered to their living quarters far above the raucous streets below, where it is no longer safe to even
step foot outside ones domicile. The middle classes, meanwhile, are doing their best to escape to suburbs in the sky. Blimps forever hovering overhead beckon to the fleeing
people that their safety exists in the off-world colonies, demonstrating that earth is no longer inhabitable for the decent. Frankenstein, written many years before Blade Runner, depicts the same type
