and considered from many different perspectives. However, in practice many find that Marxs ideals are not working. This is not to say that his ideals may not work, if put
into play properly and wholeheartedly, but the manners in which his theories have been approached in practice have proved futile and disastrous. Many argue that the fall of the Soviet
Union is proof of this. Bearing this information in mind we present the following paper which discusses Marxs ideas in theory and in practice. In Theory and In
Practice One individual, Dr. Joe Essid (2002), asks that one examine the following questions when first examining the theories of Marx as they involve theory as well as practice: Was
Communism, as we knew it, close to Marxs beliefs? Was Marx too utopian about how workers would unite and how the state would protect them?" (0319GR1.html). This individual asks more
questions, such as "in an odd way, did Marx and other revolutionaries succeed even in capitalist countries?" or "Will Communism, or some other form of revolt, inevitably arise again, as
workers are downtrodden by those who employ them?" (Essid, 2002; 0319GR1.html). These are some incredibly important questions to ask when we are looking into the theories of Marx and
why they did not work in real life, especially as it related to the Soviet Union. In regards to this specific author, and the Website from which these questions were
obtained, we find, also in the Website, a great deal of discussion concerning the topic at hand. By examining some of these we can gain some critical understanding of the
