stand for a sense of equality and fair treatment. The universe is something that is physically enormous as well as symbolic. Martin Luther King is often quoted as claiming that
the universe is on the side of justice and that people can hope for a better tomorrow because of this truth. The following paper examines what King meant by this
statement. The paper also examines what justice means and how we need it in our society. The Universe and Justice Claiming that the universe is on the side of
justice, in the words of King, implies a certain amount of faith and hope for peace and equality in the future. King was essentially making a statement to the people
to offer them hope, to illustrate how human beings often strive for justice and as such the universe is on their side. At the same time there seems to be
a certain level of religious necessity on the part of the believer. Many people who followed King were of strong religious faith and they felt a sort of cosmic relationship
with God, providing us with the symbolic form of the universe. The universe, in reality, is a non feeling object that has no feelings and does not necessarily strive for
any sense of justice. But, the universe, in terms of the cosmic and God does have a concern for justice. As such the future, if the faithful continue to work
for justice, would likely be more just. The universe is not something that necessarily looks for justice at all. Justice is something that is designed to balance things in an
ultimately perfect manner. The universe does not look for perfection and seems rather chaotic and unbalanced at times. It is a natural world that acts through natural laws, not the
