ones inner adolescent" (Polter, 2002, p. 36). To men, she is the epitome of an ice queen or rejecting mother. To women, she is the epitome of every goal
for which they strive and fall short. Whether the antagonism that America feels toward this manifestation of the American Dream made real is due to Marthas gender or her style
