pull factor. Where a market at home is becoming more competitive, or the goods are in a mature market, with decline profits, there may be a need to find alternate
markets, this is a push factor, and is also a reason for seeking to change the company. If we look at a leading UK company such as Marks and Spencer,
and the time at which they decided to move into the international arena, we may argue that it was a combination of the two, but only a result of pull
factors, attractions that they could not resist. If we look at the way the company has progressed then we will see some very clearer trends. A strategy for organic
internal growth, creating new ideas rather then buying them in, and dealing directly with producers in order to give good quality to the consumer. These were the core competences of
the company. If we look more closely at this company we can see that the current position has been led to through the history of the company. The organisation
