the need to create a sales and marketing plan. In this paper we will use the 4 Ps model as a framework to develop a marketing and sales plan for
a new product. The product we will assume has been developed is a new type of pasta, designed for use in desserts rather than savoury courses. However, the product may
be varied as it is the process that is important. The 4 Ps of this model are product, price, placement and promotion. The product is the first P. This
needs to be a product for which there is already a demand, or the more difficult option is a product where a demand could be created. This latter is also
the largest potential market for a new entrant able to gain a first mover advantage. The development of a sweet pasta is innovative, but may also be seen as acceptable
by the consumers and highly differentiated form other products, one of the ways in which an advantage may be gained (Kotler, 1994). Many other flour based staples are able to
be used in savour and sweet application, such as bread, batters, and non four based staples such as rice and cuscus also have this ability. The development of a sweet
pasta will focus on two product, a sweet style spaghetti, where there is a sugared pasta served in a sweet fruit of chocolate sauce, and a sweet ravioli, where sweet
