examine these trends, original research should be conducted. A marketing plan has been developed based on findings from a student survey in the context of the text book market as
well as in light of recent literature available on the topic. It was found that computer capabilities--in terms of offering computer services to students and allowing them to enter the
store via the Internet--was at the top of the list in respect to what is needed to compete in the present market. Today, computer access is vital. Additionally, it was
found that students most wanted 24 hour per day access to the store and many thought that the inclusion of a cafe would be a good idea. Recommendations made include
the expansion of the current bookstore to include a cafe as well as a computer work station. Also necessary to implement such changes would be an increase in staffing. Changes
