the home. Germany has been one of Europes leaders in the area. As the world moves into the 21st century, there are greater opportunities for funding, fewer impediments
to marketing, and a new business culture has dawned, assisting developers of software and hardware. Denton (1997) also adds that computer systems are now central to big firms in some
sectors, such as financial services, but research by the market research company, IDC, indicates that computer sales in Europe are now lower than in Asia Pacific. However, according to the
multinational corporation Siemens Nixdorf of Germany, there is still far too much regulation in the labor market. The German economy is the worlds
third largest, and accounts for somewhat more than one-fourth of the European Unions GDP. According to BusinessEurope (1998), among European countries, Germany is the United States second largest trading partner.
