operated. 2. The Radio A radio is essentially an electrical device with several components all being used together in order to receive and translate radio waves in an audible sound.
The parts include a radio frequency amplifier, a mixer, a frequently oscillator, an intermediate frequency amplifier, a detector and an audio amplifier. The radio signal that is broadcasted is
picked up by the radio frequency amplifier this is then taken through to the mixer where it is combined with the variables frequency oscillator creating an intermediate frequency. This is
sent to the detector where there is a conversion of the radio signal to an audio signal, and the amplifier will then send the sound to the speaker. 2.1 Manufacturing
the Radio To manufacture of a radio may take place in several ways, depending on the type and design of the radio, we will look at a simple model that
is made up of the different. In this design we will have a simple single circuit board inside a plastic case. The first stage is to identify the different
parts that are needed as these will be mostly outsourced and rough into the company. A rough guide on potential prices is given, but these will also vary dependant on
the quality and also the area from which they are sources. We will look at the components separately, for this the student may undertake their own research for quotes and
