Essay / Research Paper Abstract
This 18 page paper looks at the way a bicycle is manufactured to examine the production process. The paper starts with the manufacture and fabrication of the some of the parts including both CNC and non CNC processes and then looks at how the process is organised and the way the factory should be laid out. The bibliography cites 10 sources.

The manufacture is likely to manufacture some parts and bring in others already made from specialist manufacturers; however, it is also possible there may be vertical integration with large conglomerates.
This paper will look at some of the processes that are could be involved and consider how they may be best managed in order to mange the operations most
effectively. The paper will begin by considering an outline of some of the manufacturing processes, and then look at the organising of the manufacturing process and the practical aspect
of factory layout. 2. Fabrication and Manufacturing There are any different components for a bike, the most obvious part of the bike is the frame, this is usually system
of metallic tubes arranged in two triangles to which the remaining competent, such as the chain, the handlebars, seat, derailed mechanism, wheels and brakes are all fitted. This is
shown in figure 1 Figure 1 Bike frame This is the mainstay of the bike and requires strength and durability, so the method of manufacture of the frame is
a major impact on the way that the bike will handle. Traditionally the bike frame would be made of strong, but heavy steel or an alloy of steel, however as
time progresses there have been the development of lighter materials that can be used, such as versatile steel alloys which were able to be welded mechanically, these lighter frames are
also cheaper to manufacture. The frames may be manufactured of aluminium, which are popular, or if a stronger frame is required there are also steel and titanium frames that
have a greater longevity and do not suffer from fatigue. The manufacturing of the frames involves the creation of tubes which are then assembled as a frame. However, there
