appears to operate in a "take no prisoners" style in which the purpose of activity is to get things done in the most direct line possible and in the least
amount of time. This approach requires directness of thought, speech and action, and certainly would be in direct opposition to the style of the former president.
Evidence for this assessment of the CEOs management style can be found in statements made to the new president. He bluntly states that "40% of
newly appointed managers and executives are either terminated, prove to be disappointing, or choose to leave of their own accord. Dont let me down" (Schloegel, n.d.; p. 1).
While this statement may well be very true, that it was one of the first statements made by the CEO places it on the same level as visiting someone in
a hospital and stating, "I knew someone else with this same thing you have, but he died." The CEO explained that he sought
in a president the "kind of manager that can help people work well together so that the bank can achieve an outstanding return on its investment in its human capital"
(Schloegel, n.d.; p. 1). This is an admirable goal, and a necessary one in todays hypercompetitive business environment. Further, the CEO illustrates that he does acknowledge individual differences
and the problems that can arise in creating and then maintaining communication between departments. This recalls one of Demings (1986) 14 Points and has been shown across industries and
