management functions of planning, organizing, leading and controlling; by considering the wellbeing of the employees the management may be able to increase productivity and loyalty with the associated positive traits
such as low levels of attrition and effective use of intellectual capital (Huczynski and Buchanan, 2007). There are many ways this may
take place, often it is not only a singular aspect of management that will be involved, but the different elements, with measures requiring planning. One approach that management can take
is to support the wellbeing of the employees by looking at how different cultural needs of employees may be met. This can be undertaken by planning and implementing a strategy
of diversity management. When considering the way that diversity management is put into place two main models were identified; where individuals were is expected to blend in, or where they
were set apart (Thomas and Ely, 2006). The first model can be seen as that which is more reflective of a desire for compliance with equality legislation; where individuals are
expected to blend in to the employee community as a whole (Thomas of Ely, 2006). The second model has a greater appreciation
of differences, embracing them and leveraging them, however, it sets the individuals a part or where the employees are given specific tasks relate to the background, such as assigning them
to tasks where they may be dealing with individuals of the same background, such as putting an ethnic minority employee in a position where they will be dealing with the
