Machiavelli and Richard Weinholdt. Richard Weinholdt Weinholdt is not actually the author of a book on management, he is rather a management consultant and motivational speaker; he is headquartered
in Winnipeg, Canada. Most of the information about him is simply where to contact him and the various offices hes held; none of his material is available, with one exception.
There is a copy of a questionnaire he uses in his lectures available, and looking at that, we can get an idea of what sort of management techniques Weinholdt suggests
with regard to facilitating a meeting. This is very rough and incomplete; heres an example: "Prepare _______ and a _____ _____ agenda and go over them with the
____ or other ______ _______" (Weinholdt). "Pay attention to _____ logistics" (Weinholdt). Obviously, people are supposed to fill in the blanks as they listen to his lecture. But even
without knowing what some of the terms are, we can tell several things: first, a meeting cannot and should not be called unless there is an agenda; otherwise, it goes
off track and nothing is accomplished. When he talks about "logistics" its fair to assume that he means things like making sure the room is comfortable and clean, that everyone
can see and hear the speaker, that pens and pads are provided, and that there is water available (and food, too, if that is appropriate). We can also surmise,
by looking at the form, that people are supposed to know what the meeting is about before it starts, so that they can be prepared and make contributions to it;
