In this 22 page paper an holistic view of the way that different tools, concepts and models may be used in order to develop the operations of a manufacturing organisation to improve its overall output may be approached. The paper looks at leadership styles and how they will have a major impact on the attitude of employees and the culture of the organisation. The paper also considers operational approaches such as TQM (Total Quality Management) and 6 Sigma as well as Porter’s Value Chain concepts that, if implemented with the right leadership and support from the employees, can help to add value to a firm.
