MADAME BOVARY In Madame Bovary we find a somewhat mild female focal character that decides to have an extramarital affair to spice up her life. The reader cannot escape the fact that the novels heroine discovers the inner darkness of the human soul. It is an author exactly like Flaubert who is talented enough to write about the human psyche. It is always important to describe characters in a way that a reader can visualize them and envision the place in which their story takes place; but to describe each corner of a room, each footfall, and the emotions and contents of a person as well is the mark of talent that few authors possess.
