one man due to his blind greed for power. Granted, his wife Lady Macbeth pushed him much of the way, but generally speaking Macbeth was responsible for all of his
own actions and thus was responsible for his sins. In one aspect a person may say that he pays the price for his sins because he suffers more than anyone
else in the play. Yet, others may argue that he only suffers because he ultimately has a conscience and that it is his conscience that makes him suffer. The following
paper argues that it was his conscience that made him suffer for his sins. Macbeth and His Sins If we were to argue that Macbeth suffered more than
others and this proved that he suffered for his sins we would be claiming that the death of Banquo, completely unjustified, was not as bad a punishment or experience as
Macbeths. Banquo and Duncans suffering was, however, far more tragic because they had done nothing and their lives were taken away from them. One could also argue that Macbeth
suffered more than Lady Macbeth and thus he pays the price of sin. However Lady Macbeths sins are greater and she seems to suffer far less. Thus, from the sense
of fairness, arguing that because Macbeth suffers the most he is paying for his sins, it does not make sense because Lady Macbeth seemed far more guilty of sins than
her husband she did not suffer nearly the tragedy as Macbeth. We see that through her activity Macbeth follows through, even having visions and doubts and a conscience from the
beginning as indicated by the following description of the second act: "Macbeth has a vision of a bloody dagger floating before him and leading him to Duncans room. When he
