as far as the early 1900s to see that it was Israel, not Palestine that were without a homeland. In fact, much of the hostility that exists between these two
peoples stems from the fact that they have warred over the same piece of territory generation after generation. It can be said that when a nationality is permeated by a
hatred that has become cultural, there can be no other result than that of continual war and struggle. And, the dispute over the land is more than a battle for
real estate, it is a war between ideologies, beliefs, and allegiances. In fact, the struggle between Israel and the Palestinians is more than just a war. If one is
to believe what the ancient texts state, the Jewish people were the nomads, brought out of bondage in Egypt into the land of Palestine. There, according to the Holy Bible,
they were given the land by holy edict and told to prosper. Centuries later nearly twelve thousand Jews would be living in Palestine, but the nation-state of Israel did not
exist. A Zionist movement began under English rule, which was sanctioned by the League of Nations. They seemed to have fostered the Jewish people and after World War I, there
was a movement to aid the Jewish people in the establishment of a nation-state called Israel, smack in the middle of Palestine. What is more amazing is that the Palestinian
people were the major ethnic presence in the region, not the Jews. By 1922, there were only eighty-five thousand Jews living in Palestine, as compared to the 670,000 Palestinians(History of
