For all this dynamic fluidity, there has come a great disruption to the force of higher education. Disruptions such as disruptive technology, shared governance, organized anarchy, organizational cultures, and learning organizational ideas have placed a direct strain on the morale of the faculty. SHARED GOVERNANCE Shared governance is a form of rule where the decision making responsibility is shared among those who are most likely to be affected by that decision(Bowen 1998). What becomes evident is that college administrations have gone too far in their effort to please everyone and in the end have created a dilemma for their staff. What this would seem to mean, then, at least for the college, is that institutional decisions which would affect certain staff or students includes these segments of the college population in the decision making process. According to champions of this process, this type of governing empowers each segment, making them feel as if they have a say in how things are done. Ideally, then, all the available physical and financial resources would be directed toward improvement and progress. However, it must be said that with this particular idea, there are inherent problems which are noticeable from the beginning. Human beings are wired for hierarchal rule. At some point there would develop a pecking order. This order would naturally, one would assume, be slanted more toward the benefit of the faculty and staff, more than the student body.
