lasted for so long with her London Contemporary Dance Company; she is always changing. Indeed the thing that seems to remain constant is the consistent way in which Davies is
able to produce poignant yet dynamic creations for her troupe of six to eight dance artists. Of course, the road has not always been an easy one, nor is it
for anyone involved in entertainment. She has survived in the business, one might say, by pushing the limits of possibility on stage and with the human body. One of the
ways in which this is accomplished is by using very minimalist sets, tending to ignore the special effects available via technology. Instead, Davies work has earned a reputation in some
quarters for being cool, technical and different -the Virginia Woolf of the dance world(Mackrell 1997). It has been said that one of her characteristics is to make drama and a
senses of theatre out of her dance numbers. A typical experience watching a number of Davies may have you viewing six dancers who are moving and writhing in such a
way that it seems muscularly impossible and all of that kept in a tight formation, one can see the daring and the innovation staring one right in the face.
Also, in such movements it can be said to represent the interdependence that each dancers, and thus each person, has on one another. A powerful statement in the individualized world
