Disk Operating System, Microsoft has been a leading technology company with customers not just in the United States but all over the world. The question becomes, however, is Microsoft a
solid company? This might seem as though it is an unusual question, as to many of its competitors (and some of its consumers), the company is considered an 800-pound gorilla
that simply wont go away. But like many companies in the down economy, Microsoft has had its ups and downs. Later on in this paper, well examine the companys finances
and will take note that profits and revenues are down somewhat from those reported during FY 2000. In addition, it has been
questioned that with Bill Gates no longer at the actual helm of the company, if the company would survive. Because the company was basically determined as a "Bill Gates" company,
likely as not, there was justification for the concern. The purpose of this paper is to determine Microsofts background, the profile of
