will want to add another sentence or two in which he/she gives the reader an indication of what the story will be about. In Metin Finds His Way, then, the
student could state something about the way in which prejudice works. This short story is not only about moving to a foreign land, but about ones perception, how it is
under attack and how one adapts and overcomes it. In Metins case, it is not so obvious that he has happily overcome it. The specific questions need to also
be added into the introductory paragraph so that it is clear to the reader what specificities of prejudice will be addressed. For example, the student will want to state something
along the idea of: Given the terrible state that Metin is in presently, what might his life be like in the future? Will he be able to adapt to a
way of life in Germany or will he become embittered, with more or less problems? What does this portend for anyone attempting to start a new life in an alien
environment? A sample introductory paragraph, then, may look something like this: Sometimes we dont choose life; it chooses us. Metin, a young Turkish boy of sixteen meets life head
on when he must adapt to the foreign climate of Germany with his family. His treatment at the hands of the German citizens leaves both Metin and the reader wondering
