nor limited to just those with a poets eye or a writers sensitivities. Everyone, at one time or another is faced with a blatant truth; a truth that refuses to
be ignored; a truth that eventually becomes a part of ones understanding of life. Lilly was a scruff-eared, snarl coated, Heinz fifty-seven kind of dog. People in the neighborhood tolerated
her because she was unobtrusive, stayed out of the garbage cans and did not leave her calling card (like some of the other stray dogs) in anyones yard. I happen
to know that I was not the only one that left a few morsels of food out by the curb on a daily basis, nor am I the only one
who would on a regular basis run out to break up any other dogs that looked like they might pick on poor Ms. Lilly. And, yet, for all this
care by the entire suburban corner of Lake Worth, no one wanted to make Ms. Lilly their own. Maybe it was the scraggled appearance. I know, for my own part,
I had two cats that had already voiced their opinion on the matter. No Dogs allowed was the agreement. And, Im certain that they found it a bit odd that
I took scraps outside so the dog could eat off the street. Come to think of it, they were probably right. It was weird. The weirdness came to a
