Essay / Research Paper Abstract
This 4-page paper details an experiment involving observation of mealworms and nutrition. The hypothesis is that mealworms fed oat brand or peat moss will gain the same amount of weight. Bibliography lists 3 sources.

on their diet. This paper will provide a model of how such a write-up should appear. Most science reports follow a
fairly straightforward format that consists of an abstract, purpose of the experiment, background, materials and methods used/experimental method, results and conclusions (McNulty, 1993). Such reports should also include a table
of contents, title page and bibliography (McNulty, 1993). Abstract In trying to determine what is likely to cause faster weight gain
in a mealworm, we put together a sample of 30 mealworms each to determine if oat bran and peat moss led to the same weight gain in both samples. Separating
the group into two samples, we weight both samples before the launch of the experiment, fed the different samples either oat brand or peat moss during a seven-day period, then
weighed the mealworms again. We found that the null hypothesis of A = B was void, as A (which had the oat
bran) overall had more mealworms gaining weight and greater amounts of weight. This lent credence to the second hypothesis, which is that there were some fairly sizeable variations that were
statistically significant. We also discussed some limitations, which involved temperature at which the mealworms were fed and time of day. Purpose The
purpose of this experiment is to determine how mealworms (i.e., beetle larva) function when either oat bran or peat moss is fed to them. The information mentioned a null hypothesis,
meaning that the experimenter is pretty certain that the results will be similar. There are, however, some assumptions we can put forward. For one thing, we can assume that the
