while others seem to be hit incredibly hard with the same realities. In the Bible Luke speaks of suffering in many ways although it is also a book wherein the
"main characteristic of this Gospel...is fitly expressed in the motto, Who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil" as it involves Jesus and his
work (Eastons Bible Dictionary). The book speaks of the reality of suffering as well as the depth of suffering. The following paper examines how the teachings found in Luke can
prove relevant to dealing with crisis and suffering on a persons life. Luke and Human Suffering One author, in setting the
foundation for understanding crisis and suffering, notes that, "Biblical faith does not flinch or cloak in pretty phrases its assumption that being human means suffering" (Hall 32). This is a
very powerful foundation for any Christian to possess for it realizes that suffering, even seemingly strange and unreasonable suffering, is part of life. A Christian should likely always keep this
in mind for part of being human is experiencing crises and suffering. Another author offers an important condition as well, a condition or sense of understanding, that relates to Luke.
