tripled (CDC). Since obesity leads to so many fatal diseases and conditions, many of these individuals decide to diet. The question is: What diet should they follow? Low fat versus
low carb diets has been a source of controversy for four decades. B. Motivational Link: We often draw conclusions and base beliefs and opinions on what we hear and see
from the media, from officials, and even from friends and families. These reports are seldom unbiased. C. Purpose Statement: Today, I hope to provide evidence from the literature that
will shed light on this controversy in terms of which diet is more successful and which is healthier. D. Preview Statement: Research studies do not agree with each other
