The concept of "living well" has practically as many interpretations as there are people. To some individuals living well means living an affluent lifestyle with lots
of excitement, flash, and flurry. To others, living well means living a simple lifestyle and being in tune with oneself and your loved ones, the Creator, and your environment.
The thesis can be presented therefore that: In reality the question of how one
lives well is relative. The answer to that question changes according to an individuals particular outlook, their goals, and their aspirations.
This is a question, however, that has been explored since ancient times. Consequently we can find considerable guidance in living
well both in ancient philosophy and in the popular and professional literature. Most philosophers agree that the core concept behind living well is
happiness. If an individual is happy with their lifestyle then they are in fact living well. As might be expected, however, the concept of happiness too has been
the subject of considerably philosophical thought. There is even considerable contrast between various philosophers in their views on this concept.
John Stewart Mill and Aristotle present what are some of the most interesting theories on the concept of happiness. To each the concept of happiness is central to the
